Kano State Government has started paying the New minimum wage of N30,600.
Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje launched a minimum wage of N30,600 for state workers in December 2019.
State Commissioner of Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, made this known in a statement.
Garba said that since the start of the agreement with the trade union, the government of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje is committed to paying the minimum wage to state workers.
Garba added that according to an agreement between the state government and the labor Committee, the extra payments will be made from April to November 2019.
The commissioner called on state workers to turn the tide by reflecting on their work.
He also called on taxpayers to refrain from providing funds to the state government by ensuring that both the taxpayers and the companies pay their taxes so that the state can be made more progressive.
